This is a trapezoidal oscillator that can produce various slopes from a triangle to a square wave, with rising and falling slopes being controlled either together or separately. All parameters can be CV controlled.

Description

Trapezoid is a VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator). It outputs a trapezoidal wave that can change its rising and falling slopes separately. It can go all the way to a triangle, or the other way, to a square wave. Two knobs are controlling the rising and falling part, and two inlets receive CV signals for the same purpose. A switch can link both rising and falling parts to be controlled by a single knob or CV, if you want your oscillator to be identical on both sides.

The phase inlet of the module is special because it can receive an oscillator signal, in which case phase modulation happens, but if the incoming signal is a phasor, instead of phase modulation the oscillator will do phase syncing with the incoming master phasor! Syncing can be either hard (the oscillator resets is phase when the master oscillator starts a new cycle) or flip (the direction of the oscillator flips when the master oscillator starts a new cycle). The two syncing modes can be cross-faded with the “SYNC” potentiometer, or with a CV signal in the “SYNC” inlet.

A three position slide switch sets the frequency range of the oscillator, making it a high-range, mid-range oscillator, or an LFO!

Three outlets are included in the panel, one for the bipolar oscillator signal, one for a unipolar version of the oscillator, so it can be used as a CV signal, and one for its phasor, so it can act as a master oscillator, syncing other oscillator modules!

Note that you must have one MAIN module in your system!
